Rajendra Prasad was the first president of Independent India. He was elected as a president at 1953. He started office 26th January , 1950. And he left office on 12 May 1962. He was from Bihar and also A longest-serving President, for 12 years. He had participated actively in India’s freedom movement. He was also the only president to have been selected twice for the office.

Everyone knows him because student celebrates “Teachers Day ” on the date of birth of Sarvapalli Radhakrishnan.He has also held the position of vice-chancellor of the Andhra University and Banaras Hindu University. Radhakrishnan was awarded the Bharat Ratna in 1954 before becoming the President. He was the first President from South India.He was a very prominent scholar and academician.

Zakir Husain was the 3rd president of India. He was elected as a president from 1967.Another eminent scholar and educationist, Zakir Husain stepped into the footsteps of S. Radhakrishnan He started his working at 13 may, 1967 and left office 3rd may 1969.Hussain was vice chancellor of the Aligarh Muslim University and a recipient of Padma Vibhushan and Bharat Ratna.He was also the shortest-serving President.He died in office, the first to do so.  He was also the first Muslim President.

V.V Giri was the 4th president of India.He started his office as president 24 august 1969 and left office 24th august 1974. He had served as India’s first High Commissioner to Ceylon (later Sri Lanka) between 1947 and 1951. He had also been the Governor of Uttar Pradesh (1956 to 1960), Governor of Kerala (1960 to 1965) and the Governor of Karnataka (1967 to 1969) before serving as the Vice President and then the President.

Fakhruddin Ali Ahmed is the fifth President of India. He was elected as president of India at 1974. Neelam Sanjiva Reddy was the 6th president of India. He was the first CM of Andhra Pradesh state and also had served as the Speaker of Lok Sabha. Kovind has been a lawyer for 16 years. He practiced at the Delhi High Court till 1993. He is from Bhartiya janta party and Rashtriya Swamsevak Sangha.
